The Struggle Is Real

I always have time to go to the salon to do my hair, even if it's just for my weekly blow-dry.  I always have time to go to the mall. I always have time to check Facebook. I always have time to catch up on my favourite shows on Netflix. So, really, there's no excuse for why I sometimes can't find the time to go the gym.

"Want to go to BodyPump?"

"I can't—I have no time!"

I don't like excuses, but sometimes, that's exactly what I'm using when I try to get out of going to a class at the gym. And sometimes, it truly does feel like I have no time for the gym, but that's only because my priorities have shifted—and that should never be the case. After all, it's my health. And my future. So why do I find it so hard to stick to a fitness routine, one that'll benefit me now and in the long run?

I get into great routines with working out, usually in the summer and before a vacation when I know I'm going to be spending my days in a bikini. When I'm dedicated with my fitness routine, I'm always eating better, too, and guess what? It's when I feel my very best.

As the weather gets colder, I stop going to the gym on a regular basis and I fall out of my workout routine. I always feel bad about this and it doesn't help that I'm already depressed because of the change of weather.

The struggle is real. I'm a busy, working mom of two very busy boys. I don't get much sleep—definitely less than six hours a night—and I know when I'm working out, I feel better overall. It's a no-brainer.

I love that GoodLife Fitness understands me and my struggle to keep up my fitness routine.

I love this video from GoodLife Fitness, because it shows I'm not alone in experience the struggle.  It's hard to overcome insecurities of thinking it might be too hard, but it's up to us. It's our life, after all. And we can definitely make it happen. Fitness should be a priority.

Making the choice to got to the gym a few times a week will no doubt help us live healthier and happier lives—it's just a fact.

Because I'm surrounded by GoodLife Fitness locations (there are four near my house!) I've got no more excuses. Working out is part of my life, and not only in the summer months or when I'm going on vacation.
