Escape to Atlantis Paradise Island

Ten years ago, we visited  Atlantis Paradise Island  in the Bahamas for the first time. Our boys were much younger, and we didn't enjoy all the resort had to offer (like the water slides) but we still had a wonderful vacation, and planned on going back when the children were older. A few weeks ago, we had the pleasure of travelling to Atlantis again with our entire family, including my sister, her children, and my parents. I was invited to this amazing resort for a media review, and I'm so grateful for the opportunity and the wonderful memories we made. From the moment we arrived to Bahamas (and were driven to the resort by limo–my boys thought this was so cool!) until the day we checked-out, we had a blast.  I don't think it's possible to visit Atlantis and have a bad time; it's a resort that truly offers something for everyone, whether you love to swim, golf, explore, shop, or relax. Bonus: the weather was perfection the entire week we were there. W...

How To Keep Your Sanity When Traveling With Children

Remember back in the day, when going on vacation meant that you'd actually be, well, vacationing ? What it meant for me, essentially was: Wake up at 10 a.m. Get into bikini. Put on cute cover-up. Find the perfect spot by the pool, and tan. Order a drink. Swim. Drink. Swim. Tan. Relocate to the beach. Swim. Swim. Tan. Drink. Swim. Go shower so you can go shopping before the stores close. Get dressed, and decide which pair of shoes (out of the 50 you brought) you'll wear. Shop. Shop. Shop. Back at hotel, take off all the tags from the new purchases, and make them look 'not new' so customs, who has you on their 'hotlist' as someone who spends too much money in other countries, doesn't think you shopped too much. Go out for dinner. Go out for drinks. And do it all again the next day. This is of course when I was not traveling to Greece, where a lot more walking and sightseeing was done. Europe is all about doing the tourist thing. The list of reasons I will ...

Back from The Atlantis, Bahamas!

Wow, what can I say about this amazing, massive, awesome resort? It was fantastic! We had a wonderful 5 day vacation in Bahamas, and stayed at The Atlantis, the biggest, best resort ever... soooo kid friendly - they have 5 pools just for children! There are like 20 pools altogether, a movie theatre, 20 restaurants, dolphin cay, the beautiful ocean... my kids had the best time... Christos did not want to leave! As for the travel part - seriously not bad at all... I was very worried that time going on a plane with my 1 year old would be a lot harder then we went went to Florida when he was 6 months old, but lucky for us, he slept practically the entire flight to Bahamas. The last 30 minutes flying from Toronto to Nassau he was a bit cranky, but that was all... my 3 year old is the best traveller - he too managed to nap on the plane, read some books, and watch a DVD or two. No problems with either child traveling. I, once again, packed way too much stuff in my carry-on bag. I...
