Avoiding March Break Meltdowns (And A Fujifilm Instax 300 Camera Giveaway)

It’s such a relief March is here, because we’re one step closer to spring—and saying good-bye to the cold and snow. March is all about looking ahead to sunny, warmer days and March Break, a time to reconnect with the entire family. Since we do our winter travel during the months of January and February, we stick close to home during March Break. Staying home means finding ways to keep the children happy, active, and busy, to avoid March Break meltdowns. Children often turn to their parents for suggestions on what to do if they get bored, and sometimes, we don’t have ideas to cure them of the dreaded boredom. Despite how fun March Break is, it also means we don’t get much of a break to do the things we need to do (like working, cleaning, and cooking) so it’s essential to have a solid plan in place. Although nothing can substitute one-on-one time with a parent, books and educational toys that get children’s creative juices flowing are great ways to...

Halloween Safety Tips (And A Duracell Giveaway)

Now that Thanksgiving is behind us, it's time to start thinking about the holiday season and all things festive—but first, Halloween! I get so excited for Halloween, and not just because I'm a mom. I love figuring out what costume to wear (I'm Harley Quinn this year!) and I love seeing what my boys are going to dress up as, too. (This year, they're going as a hot dog and a banana. They'd be happy to walk the streets on Halloween night with friends and leave me behind to pass out candy at home. I've seen one too many Halloween movies to let them go out alone on the 31st, though. With all the excitement that comes with Halloween, it's important to remember to be safe, especially since so many children are walking the streets at night, sometimes without parental supervision. Along with (very large) bags to store all the Halloween cand...

Powering Your Child's Imagination With Duracell and Hasbro (Plus A Giveaway!)

We're half way through July and keeping busy enjoying summer and all the fun activities, from camp to tennis to swimming and hours of soccer at the park. Of course, my kids are staying busy indoors, too, on rainy summer days, and passing their time with their favourite toys—like Nerf guns, their BB-8 Droid, and video games—all of which require batteries. I've said it before—and I'll say it again—it's essential to have batteries of all sizes in the house, all the time. Duracell is the name we trust, and the  Duracell Quantum Hi-Density Core  battery stores more power boosters to provide longer lasting performance than ever before. It's the battery we use for everything that needs to be powered up—from the remote control to toys and more. Duracell definitely helps give more hours of play out of my children's toys during, before, and long after the holidays have passed, and although we're not thinking ahead to winter holidays just yet, I love seeing the toys...
