I have really enjoyed writing about all the amazing things that Massachusetts has to offer travelers. One of my favourite things is how short of a drive it is to get to Massachusetts from where I love in Ontario, making it a perfect family travel destination.  I enjoyed learning more about the many things Massachusetts has to offer and writing about everything from island hopping to the arts and the great outdoors.   One of the things I love about traveling to Massachusetts is how you can be one with nature without really having to "rough it", if you know what I mean. I personally don't consider sleeping n a tent relaxing. (I'd be up all night complaining about how much I missed my bed and I'd be scared of a bear attack!)  In Massachusetts, you can enjoy both a big city vacation when you visit Boston, and still get away from it all on the same trip. Summer is going by way too quickly for my liking, and I find myself already dreaming about next summer and where we'll go for our family vacation. I have amazing memories of my family vacation in Cape Cod and Boston, and I know my boys will love vacation in Massachusetts, too. Massachusetts is the perfect place to go if you're planning on doing some i sland hopping.  I've always wanted to visit Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket because these islands are absolutely beautiful and offer so much for families to do during the summer months, and also because these islands are so well-known and loved by locals and visitors, year after year. As much I love to travel and explore new places, I also love the arts. Having grown up with a professional artist as a mother, I have learned to appreciate art in an entirely differently way. One of my first jobs was working in a fine art gallery downtown, and I've almost never missed one of my mom's art exhibits across Canada. When we traveled to Boston, we made sure to pop into any art gallery we stumbled upon while exploring the city.  Massachusetts is very artsy , and is home to some of the world's finest museums , like the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge. Although Norman Rockwell was born in New York City, he moved to Stockbridge, Massachusetts in 1953 with his family. I love the art of Norman Rockwell—I love how he so perfectly depicts the time period, and the real, every day, American life.  The museum features original artwork of Rockwell, the most you'll find anywhere in the world. Sometimes, deciding where to spend your summer vacation can be a daunting task, especially if you're traveling with young children. The best vacations are the ones where lasting memories are made, and the ones where the entire family can have a great time. When I was 9 years old, I went on a summer road trip with my family and some friends to Cape Cod and Boston, Massachusetts . I still have vivid memories of our vacation—of our stay in a beach front home, of walks through the streets of Boston, and of discovering the beauty in all that Massachusetts had to offer. The thing is, Massachusetts has something to offer everyone , no matter what you love. Which means that choosing Massachusetts as a summer vacation destination is a very smart choice, and one that I highly recommend. If you are a beach lover like I am, Massachusetts has many incredible beaches to explore. From Cape Cod to Nantucket Island to Martha's Vineyard, the choices are endless... and pretty breatht...
