Join The Journey With Energizer (And Win!)

We were invited to Toronto a couple of months ago to take part in a special science event with Energizer® at the Ontario Science Centre. Spending the weekend in Toronto is always fun, especially when we get to stay in great hotels like the Renaissance Hotel—from our stay at this lovely hotel, to our time spent learning in the Ontario Science Centre, it was a very memorable weekend.

My boys just received a fun personalized package from Energizer so they could conduct even more fun home experiments with the new Energizer® EcoAdvanced™ battery, Energizer's longest lasting AA high-performance alkaline battery, and the world's first battery made with 4% recycled batteries. (The cool thing is, this battery is a first step in a journey towards a goal of developing batteries made with entirely recycled materials—hoping to reach 40% by 2025!)

They made a circuit bulb holder, a hanging magnetic compass, an electromagnet and more. They had a blast.

The Join Our Journey campaign celebrates the world's first innovation, and encourages and inspires the next generation of thinkers—our children—to begin a STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) journey of their own, so innovations like this can keep happening in the future.

You can get involved with STEM at home, through fun experiments that can be created using simple materials you may already have lying around the house, like the items we used for our at-home experiments.

Did you know you can also help choose the next child innovator by voting for your favourite "dream creature" at joinenergizer.ca? Perhaps you can even get the kids involved in choosing the one they like best!

Bonus: I'm giving away the Elements of Science kit to one of my readers, along with some EcoAdvanced batteries and other goodies, so you can have some science fun at home with your kids, too!

Just leave me a comment below to win and I'll pick a winner randomly by June 25th.

Good Luck!
