What do you want for Mother's Day?

Mother's Day is just around the corner, everyone! What do you want for Mother's Day? A relaxed day at home? A massage? Chocolate?

Scary Mommy is giving away a seriously great Queen Bee gift basket on her blog. She just wants to know what you want for Mother's Day! Hmm... what do I want? Ideally, to instantly lose 10 pounds. That would be the best. Seriously. If that can't happen, then I'll take bacon and eggs and toast with butter, a fresh cup of coffee and a glass of OJ in the morning. And I would like to eat this breakfast actually sitting down!

Then I would like a one-hour massage. And a pedicure.

Oh, and to sleep more then 5 hours straight - that would be heaven!

Interestingly enough, earlier this week a little catalogue came in the mail addressed to my husband. Of course, I opened it. It was the new Tiffany catalogue! I guess he got it because he has ordered online for me before. I have to say, he is just great with the gift giving. I suck, in comparison. I dropped a few hints about what I wanted for Mother's Day, but I seriously don't expect another gift in a blue box just for Mother's Day.

A massage and pedicture will be enough for me!

Then, I want to spend the rest of the day with my well behaved boys who will not fight, yell, or make a mess, and who will take a nap on time and go to bed at 9 p.m. Or rather, 9:00 and 9:30, so I can put each one of them to sleep because I absolutely love putting them to sleep, one at a time. Then, I'll watch Desperate Housewives. With some Doritos in hand.

That would be a very excellent Mother's Day!

Truth be told, though? I'm so in love with my boys, that the very fact that I have one entire day to spend with them doing whatever we want is all I really want. I'm thankful every second of every day for them. They are my life-long present and my entire life!

That is exactly what I want for Mother's day too, a day with my boys. There ain't nothing better!

I can also be assured that there will be no blue box either ;)

Trinket-wise, I sent my husband links to necklaces with moons on them (to commemorate Goodnight Moon - it's gotten big for us this year) and he perfunctorily told me, "I've got it covered." I'm nervous... I'm the good gift giver in this family. I guess I just gotta trust him on this one!

Of course, the other part is I just want to take a moment to revel in my motherness with my son and husband. That would be great.

Spending the day with my family is a great mother's day.

As per the past few years, we go to breakfast, then to the Experimental Farm to see baby/mommy animals!!

Flowers are always a bonus ;)

Rebecca - great idea! I think we'll head over to the Experimental Farm, too - Christos is in low with all things 'newborn' right now and he really wants to see a baby 'chickie'!
A-men, a day off with those I love would be perfect. Having said that, I'll be catering to my MIL. OY.
My daughter was born on Mother's Day 2004, so although her birthday doesn't always fall on that holiday, it's usually close enough that on Mother's Day I'm exhausted from the party-planning and -throwing and all I want to do is sit around and eat leftover cake. :-)

Other than that, usually what I want for Mother's Day is an hour or two by myself to paint pottery or go see a movie or hang out in a bookstore sipping a latte and browsing books. I am happy to spend most of the day with my family, but I love having time to myself and I rarely get it anymore. So that's the best present for me.

That sounds like the most perfect day ever!! Especially the Desperate Housewives with Doritos part. And then the losing of 10 pounds, of course! :)

Hope you get your beautiful day!
I want my husband to get up with the girls that morning, get them dressed (like normal people, he dresses them funny if I'm not supervising) and let me nap on whim. When I'm not napping, we'll be at the park all together.

If there is a blue box waiting for me, I will eat my own hand. That's how sure I am that isn't happening.

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I LOVE finding new mommy bloggers! It's kinda neat that we both have boys and at the same age!
Love your blog!

Since it's on Sunday, I am going to ask that I can actually sit through an entire church service without taking the girls to the bathroom, the older boy to the nursery bathroom, the baby to the cry room, the church kitchen for towels to clean up the husband's coffee he should have never brought in the sanctuary, or running up to the alter to get one of the boys. LOL--who am I kidding? I won't be able to sit through a service til I'm very old and at that point, I'll probably fall asleep during it ;)
I think I'll ask for a new purse :)
