The crazies

I don't know about you, but this week and next week are so insanely busy, it's amazing I even remember my name!

Yesterday for example:

I woke up, got the kids ready,
went to work, worked,
left work before noon to pick up my son from kindergarten,
took him out for lunch and met up with some ladies and their children,
then did some quick errands with my son.

Then I took him to my inlaws house,
played with both my children for a bit,
left, went home, got dressed, wrapped a present, cleaned the house,
went to my husband's office party,
got drunk off one glass of wine,
ate,
came home, played with my kids,
wrapped Christmas presents, with my kids - what a disaster!
let them play with bars of soap,
got my son's teacher's present ready,
wrote a card with my son for his teacher,
put my baby to bed,
baked cupcakes with my oldest son (who, by the way, went to bed at 1 a.m. because of a very late afternoon nap!)
THEN... finally... at 1:30 a.m., I fell asleep.

Today I got the kids fed and dressed,
took my baby to the doctor because he has an ear infection,
went to the drugstore to get his medicine,
then went to my son's school for his Christmas advent celebration.

Where I cried and cried, because it was the cutest and most emotional thing I'd ever seen - my little 4 year old, in a Christmas concert, where he was a little sheep!

Then, we had a nice party in his classroom,
where I got to admire his beautiful scrapbook of all the things he's done so far this year. Amazing! And the best present I could get this year? The 2 handmade ornaments he made, and the beautiful Christmas card. I'll cherish those forever!

After that, I took the boys to their grandmother's house for lunch,
then I went shopping, (have to squeeze that in somewhere, and also? 40% off Banana Republic, hello!)
then I came to work, and did a lot of editing.

After work, I'll do some grocery shopping,
after I pick up the kids,
then more present wrapping,
more putting away the bags and bags that are piling up in my car,
eat dinner,
or at least feed the kids,
bathe the kids,
get them to bed,
thank the Lord my cleaning lady was over,
put away the piles of laundry she left for me, and then
CRASH.

Tomorrow... I'll do it all again, more or less,
including a haircut and blowdry over the noon hour,
trying to figure out when to get a manicure,
and a partridge in a pear tree.

Saturday night, I will drink lots and lots of wine at a Christmas party, and wake up the next day, bright and early at 6:30 a.m. with my baby. Joy to the World!

Next up... hosting a big party for all my friends the day before Christmas Eve, more holiday baking, and shopping, and, of course, celebrating Christmas with my family!

Phew... can you say... craziness?

P.S. Of course, we also just painted our family room and kitchen area - remind me to post pictures of the new colour soon!

Can I bother you again for your vote? Only a day left to vote for me in the Canadian Blog Awards '09, where I'm a finalist in the Best Family Blog category! I'd love to advance to the next round, but I need all your votes! All you have to do is vote for Loulou's Views here! Thank you!

Boy and I thought I was running around like a chicken with its head cut off! I can just imagine seeing your little guy being a sheep and then getting your presents. It brings tears to my eyes! These are the mom moments that everyone cherishes. I hope you have a Merry Christmas. (oh yeah- I just voted again!) Have a great rest of the day!

Sounds like you're a supermama, tho. You'll look back 2 weeks from now and it'll all seem like a dream....

Yep - this time of the year is crazy. We have two birthday in our family so it really adds to the craziness. Seems like there is something every day and every night.

Good luck!
The holidays are so nice, but them being over is nice, too! I breath a sigh of relief a few days after Christmas when our tree is down and we have reasonably cleaned up.
Enjoy your parties! Sounds like a busy, but very fun week!
And, of course I voted!

ps-voted for you! Good luck, momma!! xoxo
a) I love your curly hair! b) I got stressed out just READING your post!! It so reminded me of Sharon's "Stress-mas" blog - http://www.yummymummyclub.ca/its_stresstivus_for_the_rest_of_us -- Tonight my hubby happened upon the "gift" room and said, "What happened here?" I replied, "Who do you think takes care of Christmas every year: elves??" Gawd. Hahah

Yup - totally sounds like my life lately, completely insane!! Good thing we always manage to sneak in a glass of wine (or two) to make all the holidays just a wee bit more manageable! Happy holidays to you and your whole family!

Your list has worn me out. This time of year is crazy but so much fun. I cannot wait until my sons are in Christmas concerts at school! And oh my gawd, 1 am? I thought I had it bad when my son napped yesterday and didn't go to sleep until 10.
Wow, I'll say...I hope you get some rest in there somewhere! :)

Good luck with all the running around. I have fewer errands to do but more painting. And also no cleaning lady. So I have much sympathy for you, and will think of you as I'm dashing through the house in the next few days too...
It's the bloody holidays. Everything goes completely bonkers.

I want to see pis of the re-painted rooms!!
Isn't it crazy how much we have to pack in these last couple weeks of the year? You are doing awesome, though.
